We are looking for a commercially focused Buyer to take ownership of the end-to-end procurement process across our product range.
Operating within a fast-moving manufacturing environment, this role is responsible for ensuring the right products are sourced at the right price, from the right suppliers, and delivered at the right time.
You will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, controlling stock levels, and identifying opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and cost performance.
This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and working closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Resonsibilities:
- Effective Communication Skills: You will clearly and persuasively communicate with clients to build strong relationships being the first point of contact.
- Product Sourcing: Sourcing competitively priced, high-quality products, negotiating prices, lead times and commercial terms to deliver the best value.
- Inventory Management: Work closely with sales, operations and planning teams to understand demand, whilst monitoring supplier lead times and proactively managing potential delays or shortages.
- Supply Chain Visibility: Manage purchasing decisions to maintain balanced stock levels and minimise excess inventory, supporting initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and reliability.
- Purchasing Cycle: Take full ownership of the purchasing cycle, from demand planning through to delivery.
- Planning: Analyse purchasing and usage data to support forecasting and planning decisions.
- Risk Management: Identify and source alternative suppliers where needed to mitigate risk.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accurate purchasing data within the ERP/MRP system.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimise purchasing processes, reporting and systems.
- Analysis Reporting: Regularly compare supplier prices, identify cost-saving opportunities, report on stock levels, spend, supplier performance, quality and reliability to present to key stakeholders.
