This award-winning, stunning hotel is looking for an exceptional and accomplished Sous Chef to join and help lead the kitchen team.
Role Overview
As Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen, enabling the team to achieve the highest levels of food quality, standards, and service at all times — and enjoy a 4-day workweek!
Main Duties
- Act as a deputy with all responsibilities as required.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized environment at all times.
- Plan the day-to-day running of all kitchen sections to meet service standards.
- Assist and produce accurate stock takes; control operating costs within budgets; order appropriate food levels.
- Conduct quality checks on stock, produce, and dishes; provide training to keep the team focused and evolving as chefs.
- Respond flexibly to business and client needs, offering guidance and support to colleagues in difficult situations.
- Manage rotas according to business levels.
- Ensure daily food preparation meets recipes and specifications regarding size, quantity, and quality.
- Attend relevant meetings to stay informed about hotel business operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role and environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds 7061/7062 or NVQ Level 2/3.
- Experience with ordering systems and cost control processes.
- Hands-on team player with experience in training and coaching.
