What you’ll do:
- As the personal coach to our Nation’s military families, you will focus on financial plans that are constantly evolving to pursue short-term and long-term financial goals.
- You will provide guidance to military families on managing day-to-day finances, building lifetime assets, and protecting against the unexpected.
- You will engage with the community to bring new clients to First Command, with the support of your local district team and Home Office.
- You will connect directly with the military community by partnering with local military organisations, military units, and other supporting institutions.
- You will coach military families on how to build a comprehensive financial plan that includes savings/banking, investments/wealth management, and insurance/risk management.
Training and licensing support:
First Command offers a comprehensive training and licensing programme designed for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses to start and grow a successful Financial Advisor career.
Sponsorship:
First Command sponsors your pursuit of full registration and licensing as a Financial Advisor using our tools and resources to guide you through the process.
Licensing:
You’ll receive structured training and test preparation to help you obtain the necessary securities and Life & Health licenses—no prior licensing is required.
Role Progression:
Upon completing licensing, you’ll have the opportunity to transition into a paid training role, partnering with a local district office and accelerating your professional development.
Compensation:
As you begin this career, your First Command Financial Advisor compensation will consist of an hourly wage for 3 months and then transition into a salaried position that offers progressive incentives during the remainder of the nine-month paid training period.
Becoming an Advisor:
Successful completion of the paid trainee programme opens the door to becoming an independent contractor Financial Advisor with First Command, allowing you to run your own practice while earning income based on the value you deliver and the results you achieve.

There is no cap on your earning potential: Your compensation reflects your effort and is based on competitive commissions, residual income, bonuses, and deferred compensation.
