First City Group are looking for compassionate and reliable Care Support Workers to join our team in Swindon and the surrounding areas. This role involves supporting adults with a range of needs, to live independently and confidently in their own homes and communities. This role differs slightly from traditional domiciliary care, your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing domestic support, including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and light household tasks
  • Offering carer relief (respite support) to family members and informal carers
  • Supporting individuals with sensory loss to access the community, attend appointments, and remain socially connected
  • Providing varying levels of personal care, tailored to individual needs, which may include:
  • Assistance with washing and continence care
  • Help with oral care and grooming
  • Support with mobility and safe transfers
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully, adapting communication methods to meet individual needs
  • Promoting independence, dignity, privacy, and choice at all times
  • Shifts will range from an hour upwards and will be across Swindon and the surrounding area.

    About You

    • Caring, patient, and respectful with a genuine desire to support others
    • Reliable and flexible to work across a varied schedule, including weekends
    • Experience in care or sensory support is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided
    • Willingness to learn about sight loss, hearing loss, and dual sensory impairments
    • A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential with Business insurance Class 1 due to the community-based nature of the role
