Transport Assistant Responsibilities

• Oversee fleet compliance including MOTs, servicing, inspections, and insurance requirements.
• Maintain vehicle records and ensure adherence to DVSA regulations and internal policies.
• Ensure all driver documentation (licenses, CPCs, training) is up to date.
• Plan and schedule transport jobs, driver rotas, and equipment / resource allocation.
• Liaise with site managers, suppliers, and departments to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries and collections.
• React quickly to changes, delays or emergencies, ensuring smooth operations across all group companies.
• Act as point of contact for drivers: issuing instructions, resolving issues, and monitoring performance.
• Track vehicle usage, fuel efficiency, and driver hours.
• Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing communication with transport personnel.
• Provide general administrative and operational support across departments.
