This is an exciting opportunity for a bookkeeper with around 3 years’ experience who wants to develop their career, gain exposure to international events, and work in a fast-paced environment. You’ll join a supportive operational team within a company known for delivering high-profile events across Europe in collaboration with the Armed Forces.

Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices and uploading them into Xero
- Obtaining invoice approvals
- Ensuring timely supplier and bill payments
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Raising outgoing invoices and supporting credit control
- Collating employee manual expense forms
- Supporting the transition to digital expenses via the Xero app
- Working closely with the operational support team, including another Bookkeeper, procurement, admin support, and the CEO
- Working in a busy, open-plan sales office environment
International Travel & Event Support
The company delivers 7–8 major events per year, with continued growth. You will attend 4–8 international events annually as part of the team. £500 bonus per event attended (up to £4,000 per year). Events are typically 3–4 days, fully paid, and held across Europe. Work closely with businesses and Armed Forces representatives at high-profile exhibitions.
Requirements
- Able to commute to Chelmsford (central location, no on-site parking)
- Willing and able to travel internationally for events
- Around 3 years’ experience in accounts or bookkeeping
- Xero experience is essential
- Proactive, organised, and confident using your own initiative
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- AAT or relevant degree beneficial but not essential
- Any exposure to payroll (commission, sick pay, payroll prep) is advantageous
