We are recruiting for an Order Fulfilment Coordinator to join a successful and established business based in Chelmsford.
This is a varied and responsible position within the operations team where you will take ownership of customer orders and help keep everything moving from initial processing through to successful delivery.
Working closely with the Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse teams, you'll identify anything that could delay an order, resolve issues, and ensure both customers and internal teams are kept updated.
This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in order processing, customer service, sales administration, logistics, distribution or operations who is looking for a role with more responsibility and ownership.

Responsibilities
- Manage the daily order book and keep order information accurate and up to date
- Monitor customer orders and ensure agreed delivery dates are achieved
- Identify potential delays and act before they become a problem
- Pick up and resolve order queries from Sales and Customer Service
- Resolve picklist and order issues
- Coordinate unusual and bespoke orders, including alterations and badges
- Manage customer returns and collections
- Liaise with the accounts team regarding credits
- Work with purchasing where supplier chasing is required
- Keep customers and internal teams updated when order details or delivery dates change
- Maintain accurate backlog and order information
- Ensure operational processes are followed consistently
- Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution
- Support the Operations Manager with team 1:1s and follow-up actions
- Attend weekly management meetings when required
Requirements
- To live within a reasonable distance of Chelmsford
- Previous experience within order fulfilment, order processing, customer service, logistics, distribution, sales spport or operations would be ideal.
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence managing several priorities at once
- Experience using order management or ERP systems
- Strong communication skills
- Confidence liaising with customers and different internal departments
- A proactive approach and willingness to chase outstanding actions
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm in a busy environment
- A process-driven approach to your work
- A genuine desire to take ownership and get things resolved
