Weighbridge Operative job duties:
- To operate the site weighbridge office ensuring correct administration of tipping and collecting vehicles.
- Support the team to ensure the effective implementation of the traffic management plan, keeping accurate records of waste on site so that operational needs are met and waste is appropriately collected.
- Include a range of other administration tasks to make sure records on site are kept up to date and complete.
Job Purpose:
The Weighbridge Operative is responsible for:
- Operating the weighbridge to weigh vehicles in and out of the site, provide directions to incoming/outgoing vehicles and ensure effective traffic flow around the site.
- Assisting in ensuring the site is compliant with the site permit (specifically around acceptance of waste).
- Completing paperwork to ensure the site complies with legislation (e.g. weighbridge tickets, duty of care etc.). This includes use of the existing weighbridge IT systems (currently Avery System).
- Assisting with updating spreadsheets (recording and calculating inputs and outputs for the site), producing reports using data from the weighbridge system.
- Checking all incoming vehicles to site (visitors, contractors etc.).
- Carrying out required checks and procedures on outgoing loads including pre-loading (cleanliness) checklists for SRF loads going out and post loading checklists for all materials going out unless otherwise being done by loading driver.
- Communicating vehicle movements and loading requirements to key site personnel.
- Issuing of weighbridge tickets through automated and manual means.
- Ensuring all visitors have the correct PPE before entering site.
- Assisting in maintaining a safe working environment in line with the company Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensuring weighbridge consumables including ticket paper rolls etc. are replenished sufficiently for the ongoing shift and weekend.
- Any other reasonable task as directed by the management team.
When the plant is not operating, all workers will be required to perform other duties.
