We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freight Warehouse Manager to join a busy and fast-paced freight operation based in Sunbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager with a strong background in freight, logistics or air cargo to take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the night operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the warehouse night shift
- Lead, motivate and manage the warehouse team, ensuring productivity and performance standards are achieved
- Plan and allocate workloads to ensure freight is processed efficiently and within required timescales
- Oversee the receiving, handling, storage and dispatch of freight
- Ensure all operational and security procedures are followed correctly
- Maintain high standards of health & safety throughout the warehouse
- Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate cover is in place
- Manage staff performance, attendance and training requirements
- Ensure accurate completion of warehouse and operational documentation
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of freight through the operation
- Identify and implement improvements to warehouse processes and productivity
- Ensure equipment and warehouse facilities are maintained to a high standard
- Deal with any operational issues or delays effectively
- Ensure excellent service levels are maintained for customers
- Maintain a secure, organised and compliant warehouse environment
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous Warehouse Management experience within freight/logistics is essential
- Strong knowledge of freight and warehouse operations
- Air freight/cargo experience would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience managing and developing warehouse teams
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Good understanding of health & safety and warehouse compliance
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, time-sensitive operation
- Strong communication skills
- Confident using warehouse systems and completing operational documentation
- Flexible and reliable approach to work
