Our client is looking for a Global Logistics Executive to work

SHIFTS Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00 / 10:00-19:00

Role Purpose

To provide customer‑tailored global end‑to‑end supply chain solutions to support the aerospace industry 24/7. The role will require you to facilitate the day‑to‑day operations of the Global solutions department across all modes of transport, specifically Air & Road. You will be required to produce shipping documentation, perform customs submissions (both Export & Import), obtain freight rates/solutions, and produce customer quotes while ensuring an excellent customer experience throughout.

Main Duties

  • Effect the management of day‑to‑day Road, Sea and Air Freight operations.
  • Co‑ordinate the export and import bookings of Freight jobs.
  • Liaise with customers, partners, shipping lines and carriers.
  • Obtain freight rates (road/air/sea) and provide quotations.
  • Handle customs formalities including processing export and import declarations, arranging customs clearance, and duty deferment processing.
  • Accurately input order data via various in‑house and HMRC‑associated systems for customs declarations for Road/air/ocean freight imports and exports.
  • Assist colleagues in maintaining effectiveness of Customs data entry.
  • Deal with telephone and email queries.
  • Physically process goods transiting the facility including ETFS and maintain compliance through WMS and associated IT system platforms.
  • Consistently maintain compliance within internal processes, regulations, and governing law.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Daily checking of all Road, Airfreight and Seafreight collections and deliveries, and ensuring clients are informed of any deviation to the agreed schedule.
  2. Support colleagues in work and shipment management and ensure even distribution of workloads.
  3. Manage jobs from quotation stage to final invoicing in line with client expectations and effectively communicate any service issues.
  4. Prepare customs entries to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  5. Prepare other trade documentation and forms required for certain products.
  6. Liaise with importers/exporters and others to obtain mandatory information for import and export entries.
  7. Enter data onto specialist customs software.
  8. Deal with all queries quickly and efficiently relating to customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates and any other documentation requirements.
  9. Keep up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures.
  10. Liaise with Port Health and Customs officials on document checks.
  11. Maximise the gross profit by negotiating with the supplier base.
  12. Invoice jobs on completion.
  13. Motivate and be motivated in customer service, productivity, and final maximum potential Ebit through continuous improvement.
  14. Resolve day‑to‑day operational matters within bounds of profitable file.
  15. Problem‑solve within agreed costs; if outside escalation required, handle accordingly.

Requirements

  • Previous freight forwarding or logistics experience.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as alongside all other members of staff.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Patience and attention to detail.
  • Financial analytics and numeracy skills.
  • DG, Health & Safety, Fire Safety Awareness.
  • Full UK Driving licence with less than 6 points.
  • Five‑year checkable employment history and right to work in the UK.

Salary up to GBP45K
