Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Import Operations Specialist to manage end-to-end freight movements, ensuring efficient and compliant handling of import shipments. The successful candidate will have strong operational knowledge across air and sea freight, along with hands-on experience in customs clearance procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end freight shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Prepare and issue accurate customer quotations
- Coordinate closely with overseas agents and partners
- Complete and process import customs entries using CDS (Customs Declaration Service)
- Ensure all shipments comply with HM Revenue Customs (HMRC) regulations
- Handle shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve any operational issues or delays
Requirements
- Previous experience in airfreight operations (seafreight experience also required)
- Strong understanding of end-to-end freight forwarding processes
- Experience with import customs procedures and documentation
- Working knowledge of CDS and the UK Customs Regulations
