FREIGHT PRICING OPERATOR - Freight Forwarding/Shipping/Import/Export Offering a salary of £33,000 to £35,000 Freight Forwarding / Shipping experience required We are working with a Birmingham based Freight Forwarding organisation who have a new and exciting opportunity to join their busy FREIGHT IMPORT & EXPORT operations team. The role of FREIGHT PRICING OPERATOR requires a candidate who has previously worked in the Freight Forwarding and/or Shipping industry and been responsible for obtaining rates and costings, negotiating with carriers and suppliers to maximise profitability on each and every shipments. Duties will include: Maintain, review and create tariffs with agreed customer rates. Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, Shipping Lines & overseas partners/agents. Create quotations for import, export and/or cross trade in an agreed timeframe. Have an understanding of market conditions and trends. Be able to confidently negotiate rates with suppliers, Shipping Lines and overseas partners/agents. Offer high levels of customer service to clients at all times. Resolve any pricing query or complaint and escalate if necessary. Communicate effectively with the Seafreight operations team. The successful candidate is required to have experience of working in Freight Forwarding and in particular Seafreight or Shippin g, posses strong communication and customer service skills, with a passion and desire to succeed in their career.
