Our client is looking for a Global Logistics Executive to work SHIFTS Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00 / 10:00-19:00. SALARY £32,000 - £45,000 BASE Heathrow.
Role Purpose
To provide customer-tailored global end-to-end supply chain solutions to support the aerospace industry 24/7. Your role will require you to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Global solutions department across all modes of transport but specifically Air Road. You will be required to produce shipping documentation, perform customs submissions (Both Export Import), obtain freight rates/solutions (road/air/sea) and produce customer quotes whilst always providing timely customer updates ensuring an excellent customer experience throughout.
Main Duties
- Effect the management of day-to-day Road, Sea and Air Freight operations.
- Co-ordinate the export and import bookings of Freight jobs.
- Liaising with customers, partners, shipping lines and carriers.
- Obtaining freight rates (road/air/sea) and providing quotations.
- Customs formalities including processing export and import declarations, arranging customs clearance, and duty deferment processing.
- Accurate input of order data via various in house and HMRC associated systems for customs declarations for Road/air/ocean freight Imports and Exports.
- General administration.
- Assisting colleagues in maintaining effectiveness of Customs data entry.
- Dealing with telephone and email queries.
- Physical processing of goods transiting facility including ETFS and maintaining compliance through WMS and associated IT system platforms.
- To consistently maintain compliance within internal process, regulation, and governing law.
Key Accountabilities
- To be responsible for the daily checking of all Road, Airfreight and Seafreight collections and deliveries and ensuring that clients are kept informed of any deviation to the agreed schedule.
- To support colleagues in work and shipment management and ensure even distribution of workloads.
- Managing the jobs from quotation stage to final invoicing in line with the client expectations and effectively communicating any service issues.
- Preparation of customs entries to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
- Preparation of other trade documentation and forms required for certain products.
- Liaising with importers/exporters and others to obtain mandatory information for import and export entries.
- Enter data onto specialist customs software.
- Deal with all queries quickly and efficiently relating to customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates and any other documentation requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures.
- Liaise with Port Health and Customs officials on document checks.
- Maximising the gross profit by negotiating with the supplier base.
- Invoicing jobs on completion.
- To motivate and be motivated in customer service, productivity, and final maximum potential Ebit through continuous improvement.
- Resolution of day-to-day operational matters within bounds of profitable file.
- To problem solve within agreed costs, if outside escalation required.
Requirements
- Previous freight forwarding or logistics experience.
- The ability to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as working alongside all other members of staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Patience and attention to detail.
- Financial analytics and numeracy skills.
- DG, Health Safety, Fire Safety Awareness.
- Full UK Driving licence with less than 6 points.
- 5 year checkable employment history and right to work in the UK.
