Warehouse Operative Location: Feltham Salary: £35,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm Overtime: Available Shift Patterns: Alternative shift patterns available Licence Requirement: Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence The Opportunity · We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative with a valid Counterbalance FLT licence to join a successful, family-feel business as they launch a brand-new multimodal cargo warehouse facility in Feltham. · This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing operation from the outset, helping to establish and maintain a safe, efficient and well-organised warehouse environment. · The business operates within the specialist logistics and project freight sector, supporting customers across industries including Oil & Gas and Renewables. The warehouse will handle a varied range of specialist and general project cargo, offering an interesting and fast-paced working environment. · The successful candidate will be hands-on, reliable and safety-conscious, with experience in warehouse operations and forklift driving. You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day movement, handling, storage and dispatch of cargo. Key Responsibilities · Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to load, unload and move goods. · Assist with the receipt, checking and storage of incoming deliveries. · Pick, prepare and dispatch goods in line with operational requirements. · Load and unload vehicles, ensuring cargo is handled safely and securely. · Assist with the movement, handling and storage of general and specialist project cargo. · Ensure goods are stored correctly and warehouse space is used efficiently. · Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock checks when required. · Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health and safety procedures. · Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and organisation throughout the warehouse. · Carry out routine equipment checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements. · Work closely with warehouse colleagues, supervisors and the wider operations team to ensure the smooth running of the facility. · Follow warehouse procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security requirements. · Report any damages, discrepancies, delays or operational issues to the relevant supervisor. · Support the ongoing set-up and development of the new warehouse facility. · Assist with general warehouse duties as required. You Will Ideally Have · Previous experience in a warehouse operative or similar logistics role. · A valid Counterbalance FLT licence. · Experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse or logistics environment. · Good knowledge of goods-in, goods-out, loading, unloading and storage procedures. · An understanding of stock control and warehouse safety practices. · Good organisational skills and attention to detail. · A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach to work. · The ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Good communication skills and a willingness to support colleagues. · A flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements. · Experience in freight, cargo handling or project logistics would be advantageous.
