Role Overview: The Business Development Manager - Projects is responsible for developing and expanding the companies project logistics business within the UK & Ireland, with a focus on complex, oversized, and heavy-lift cargo. The role drives early project engagement and converts opportunities into executable, compliant, and profitable projects in close cooperation with the companies projects operations and transport engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow the project logistics pipeline within the UK & Ireland, targeting energy, renewables, infrastructure, and industrial projects as well as OEMs.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with EPCs, OEMs, project owners, and contractors.
- Act as commercial lead from early project shaping through contract award.
- Prepare and present integrated project logistics solutions, including transport engineering concepts and risk considerations.
- Manage RFQs, tenders, and bids in coordination with Projects, Transport Engineering, Chartering, and Operations.
- Lead commercial negotiations in line with company risk, margin, and compliance standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in project forwarding or project logistics.
- Proven track record in business development or commercial project roles.
- Strong understanding of heavy-lift, breakbulk, and multimodal transport solutions.
- Experience working with EPCs, OEMs, and industrial project stakeholders.
- Commercially strong, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UK, Ireland and wider region / worldwide, if required.
