Our client close to Heathrow is looking for an Export Consol Operations person. The position is focused on building and operating the company Export Consol Program, improving buying power and ultimately the profitability of the company. Alongside profitability, we expect to improve and enhance the customer service provided to our customers.
You will also be involved in the completion of customs clearances, quotes, arranging shipments and associated documents with a focus on consolidation of shipments where possible, flight tracking, cost approval, invoicing, rate negotiation and any other functions as required. The individual should be prepared to be involved in multi-modal activities as required and provide support to the supervisor during holiday and absent periods from the office.
Key Activities:
- Remain in contact with Partners, Airlines and other suppliers to maintain relationships
- Cost control and rate negotiation
- Manage and monitor airline bookings
- Understanding and in some cases completion of end-to-end forwarding activities as the individual role requires
- Focus on communications between office and warehouse
- Focus on and improve processes and ultimately customer service
- Follow strict and time-sensitive SOP’s/KPI’s to ensure compliance
- Work closely with internal and external customers
- Use of CargoWise/MS Office as required
