An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Customs Operations Specialist to join a well-established freight forwarding business based in Surrey.

We're looking for a customs professional with a proven background in freight forwarding who can confidently manage import and export customs processes across air, sea and road freight while ensuring full compliance with UK customs legislation.

The successful Customs Specialist:

  • Strong working knowledge of CDS and Sequoia.
  • Experience with Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA), HMRC amendments and duty reclaim procedures.
  • A thorough understanding of UK customs regulations, commodity codes and the UK Trade Tariff.
  • Experience processing both UK and EU import customs formalities.
  • Exposure to customs activities across air, sea and road freight.
  • Previous experience working with niche shipments would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
  • Confidence working independently while also contributing to a busy operations team.
