Our client, a leading international Freight Forwarder, is currently seeking 2 Courier Van Drivers to join their team on a temporary basis in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established logistics business, delivering exceptional service while working within a professional and fast-paced environment.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 08:45 - 18:15
  • 45-hour working week
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • Overtime available on Saturdays

Pay Rate

£14.75 per hour

The Role

You will be responsible for the daily delivery and collection of shipments, ensuring a high level of customer service at all times. You will represent the company professionally, maintaining its values and commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete multiple daily deliveries and collections of various shipment types, sizes and weights.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service during every customer interaction.
  • Accurately record working and driving hours in line with transport regulations.
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and ensure loads are secured correctly.
  • Follow all company driving standards, policies and procedures.
  • Sort and prioritise workloads to ensure all delivery commitments are met.
  • Collect and process cash-on-delivery payments where required.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, security and compliance.
  • Adhere to customs, import and export procedures where applicable.
  • Report any potential security concerns or breaches to management.
  • Identify and communicate potential business development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the service centre team to achieve operational targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • C1 (7.5 Tonne) Licence preferred.
  • Digital Tachograph Card, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling shipments safely in line with manual handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Insurance Requirements

Due to Driver Negligence Insurance restrictions, applicants must:

  • Be aged 25 years or over.
  • Have a minimum of 180 days' driving experience in this vehicle class within the last 2 years.

Additional Information

Successful applicants will be required to complete:

  • A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • Five years of employment/reference history checks.
