We are eager to recruit a Container Freight Transport Operator who has experience of working in a busy, fast-paced and at times hectic Container Transport department.

The Operator will be responsible for the routing/planning of containers from the ports through to final delivery location. Day-to-day activities will involve working closely with the Seafreight division, shipping lines and Intermodal/haulage suppliers, developing good working relationships with all and delivering best in class service to customers.

Requiring a candidate who has previously handled Container Freight Transport and has experience of UK Transport Planning, and worked closely with prestigious customers seeing to their every need.

The day-to-day duties include:

  • Liaising with Ports, Shipping Lines, Customers, Rail terminals and Hauliers
  • Accepting bookings
  • Arranging the delivery and collection of Containers nationally
  • Planning and Routing Container movements via Road & Rail
  • Liaising with customers and offices through the UK to arrange Container Freight transport solutions
  • Transport administration, raising manifests, data entry, chasing PODs, filing, faxing and photocopying etc.

The successful candidate is required to have strong customer service skills and be able to multitask, possess IT skills and have ideally used the TOPS system. They should be a quick learner, able to prioritise their workload with a flexible approach, hard-working, able to think on their feet and have previous experience of working in a Container Road and/or Rail Freight environment.
