The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Embroidery Operative / Driver to join our client's friendly business. This is a varied, hands-on role combining embroidery production, stock handling, deliveries, and general support across the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating embroidery machines
- Preparing garments and products for embroidery
- Handling incoming and outgoing stock
- Carrying out local deliveries
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the business
This is a physically active role involving regular manual handling, lifting and moving boxes, loading and unloading deliveries, and supporting with stock movement. Candidates should be comfortable undertaking physical work as part of their daily duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating commercial embroidery machines
- Loading garments and materials onto machines
- Monitoring embroidery production runs and quality
- Checking finished products for accuracy and quality
- Preparing orders according to customer specifications
- Changing threads, needles, and machine settings as required
- Packing and labelling completed orders
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Regular lifting, carrying, and moving of boxes and stock
- Carrying out local collections and deliveries using a company vehicle
- Assisting with general duties to support the smooth running of the business
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Following all health and safety procedures
Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving licence required
- Previous embroidery experience is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided
- Ability to undertake a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling and heavy lifting
- Comfortable loading and unloading deliveries and moving stock throughout the day
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines
