Our client close to Heathrow is looking for an Air Export Clerk for shipments from the UK and also Cross-trade.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise with international air freight agents, airline operators, and brokers to agree transport costs and ensure the best possible solutions are sourced, to fit clients’ requirements.
- Understand all risks involved with each shipment and mitigating those risks.
- Calculate air freight rates, including chargeable weight conversions.
- Background and understanding of CDS.
- Monitor the progression of transports, advising the client at agreed milestones and ensuring the transports are running to schedule.
- Ensure our bespoke transport management system is correctly monitored and fully updated when required.
- Make bookings directly with the airlines/agents.
- Answer incoming calls professionally and deal with any enquiries quickly.
- General administration, plus any other duties as required.
The hours are Monday to Friday alternate weeks doing 1 week 8am-4.30pm then next 10am to 6.30pm, plus 1 weekend a month 9am-9pm extra £200 a day can be remotely. Salary up to £36K depending on experience.
