Our client is looking to add an Aerospace Planner to their expanding team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.30 - 18.00, although flexibility is essential, evening and weekend calls/emails to support drivers are shared between operational staff.
The main goal of the Planner is optimising asset utilisation, load factor and minimising route cost while keeping customer performance high and stable for own assets. Working as part of a team with close communication between drivers and other team members.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the field of logistics
- Knowledge of customs procedures
- Knowledge of and interest in automated planning systems
- Extensive knowledge of logistics and planning principles
- Comprehensive knowledge of drivers' hours and transport legislation
- Basic knowledge of cost price calculations
- Able to express in English
Responsibilities:
- Planning of the movement of aircraft engines, related components and exceptional cargo on a 24/7, 365 basis.
- Interfacing with blue chip clients and business professionals on a daily basis.
- Responsible for planned on-time performance.
- Responsible for providing service with a range of specialised vehicles.
- Responsible for the planned route cost, concerning toil and kilometres within the region.
- Ensuring the smooth and calm running of a very busy team.
- Optimising the load factor while minimising empty running.
- Minimising the planned route cost by optimising the planned route.
- Active communication with colleagues across the EU, freight planning, customer service, truck planners and fleet service.
