We are recruiting an Import / Export Clerk to join a busy freight-forwarding team based in Langley. The successful candidate will support air, ocean and road freight shipments across both imports and exports. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight-forwarding experience who wants to develop their multimodal operational knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import and export shipments by air, ocean and road.
- Arrange bookings with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation.
- Monitor shipments from collection through to final delivery.
- Keep customers informed of shipment progress and resolve operational queries.
- Liaise with customers, carriers, transport providers and internal departments.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipment information on CargoWise.
- Ensure files are completed accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Support the wider operations team with general freight administration.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics or shipping.
- Some knowledge of air, ocean or road freight operations.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Good attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Comfortable working in with one other person, office-based environment.
- CargoWise experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided.
- Customs-clearance experience is not required.
