New opportunities for a Catering Assistant & Cook based in Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry. These are ongoing temporary roles, initially for 3 months with the possibility of extension.
Catering Assistant
- This is a part-time role at 20 hours per week.
- The working hours are on a rota basis and the shift times will be 7.30am – 2.30pm, or 1pm- 8pm.
- You must be available to work these shifts throughout the week and on weekends.
- The pay rate is £12.51 per hour Monday to Friday, £17.22 per hour on Saturdays and £22.34 per hour on Sundays.
- The post holder will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, washing and storing dishes and equipment, and assisting with basic food preparation.
- They will support the kitchen team by ensuring supplies are clean and available, help with deliveries and waste disposal, and follow all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures.
Cook
- This is a part-time role with 30 hours per week.
- The working hours are on a rota basis and the shift times will be 6.30am – 2.30pm, 9.15am – 5.15pm or 10.15am – 6.15pm.
- You must be available to work all of these shifts throughout the week and on weekends.
- The pay rate is £12.75 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.62 per hour on Saturday and £20.80 per hour on Sunday.
- The post holder will work within the kitchen to prepare, produce and present food to patients, clients, staff and visitors.
- The main duties will include cooking and serving food, understanding and adhering to HACCP and food safety legislation, maintaining knowledge and catering to any dietary requirements, stock management, contributing to menu creation and ensuring personal and food hygiene standards are maintained.
- You must also be willing to undergo an Access NI for this role.
