Ten General Operative's urgently required for the Belfast City Council based at Duncrue Industrial Estate, Belfast. This is a temporary, five month position with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Application Closing Date: The closing date for applications is 3rd June 2026. Early application is advised as interviews may take place prior to the closing date. Target start dates for these roles will be 8th June 2026 or 29th June 2026.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Thursday: 7.30 AM to 3.30 PM
- Friday: 7.30 AM to 3 PM
Hourly Rate: £13.47
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carry out waste collection and open spaces duties across public areas, working alone or as part of a team.
- Collect and remove refuse and recyclable waste from domestic, commercial and industrial premises.
- Transport and segregate waste for appropriate disposal, including special and recyclable items.
- Undertake street cleansing and environmental improvement duties, including land clearance and street washing.
- Remove graffiti, fly-posters, gum and clean street furniture to maintain public areas.
What We Need From You:
- Minimum of 6 months previous experience cleaning outdoor areas.
- Must have awareness of health and safety regulations including experience operating equipment and manual handling.
- Previous experience interacting with members of the public.
