First Choice are currently seeking a General Operative, urgently required for the Belfast City Council, based in the city centre. This is a full time, temporary post, initially required for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Hours of work will be Monday to Thursday: 7.30 AM to 3.30 PM and Friday: 7.30 AM to 3 PM. Rate of pay is £13.47 per hour.
The main duties of this role will be to:
- Carry out waste collection across public areas
- Collect and remove refuse and recyclable waste from domestic, commercial and industrial premises
- Transport and segregate waste for appropriate disposal, including special and recyclable items
- Undertake street cleansing and environmental improvement duties, including land clearance and street washing
- Remove graffiti, fly-posters, gum and clean street furniture to maintain public areas
What We Need From You:
- Minimum of 6 months previous experience cleaning outdoor areas
- Must have awareness of health and safety regulations including experience operating equipment and manual handling
- Previous experience interacting with members of the public
