Three Medical Laboratory Assistants required to work in the Histopathology department at The Royal Victoria Hospital. Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.
The hours of work are on a Rota between 07.30am-5.15pm Monday to Sunday and the rate of pay is £12.75 per hour. This is a temporary role for approx. 3 months with a possibility of extension.
You will be responsible for preparation and processing samples and maintaining a clean and efficient working area, a methodical approach to work and have experience in working to tight deadlines.
Main Duties are:
- Booking in, processing, labelling, cataloguing, storage, and retrieval of samples
- Assist in data processing within the laboratories
- Sort and distribute laboratory reports
- Maintain a clean and efficient working area
- Prepare appropriate solutions/reagents where necessary
- Remove and dispose of laboratory waste according to departmental procedures
- Be aware of and adhere to all current Health and Safety regulations
What We Need From You:
- 4 GCSEs (Grade A-C) to include Maths and English
- Science A level (Grades A-C) or equivalent qualification
- 1 year laboratory experience
