First Choice is currently recruiting a Bio Medical Scientist to join our growing team within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. This role will be based in Craigavon Area Hospital. This is a full time, temporary post, initially required until the 31st of July, with the possibility of extension. Hours of work for this role will be based on a weekly rota, with shift patterns from 8am - 8pm Monday - Sunday, therefore the successful candidate must be fully flexible for weekday and weekend work.
Pay rate for this role will be:
- £19.10 M - F
- £24.82 Saturday
- £30.55 Sunday
Main duties of this role will be:
- Perform routine and specialist laboratory investigations on patient samples, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results to support clinical decision-making.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated laboratory analysers in accordance with laboratory protocols and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures to maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Analyse, interpret, and validate laboratory data using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) before authorisation and release of results.
- Process a high volume of biological specimens while maintaining strict adherence to turnaround times and service level agreements.

- A Full Clean Drivers Licence
- 1 Year post HCPC Registration
- Willingness to undergo an Access NI Check
- Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry
