Eleven General Operatives urgently required for the Belfast City Council based at Duncrue Industrial Estate, Belfast.

Application Closing Date: The closing date for applications is 9th January. Early application is advised as interviews may take place prior to the closing date.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday: 7.30 AM to 3.30 PM, Friday: 7.30 AM to 3 PM

Hourly Rate: £13.47

This is a temporary, three-month position with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out waste collection and open spaces duties across public areas, working alone or as part of a team.
  • Collect and remove refuse and recyclable waste from domestic, commercial and industrial premises.
  • Transport and segregate waste for appropriate disposal, including special and recyclable items.
  • Undertake street cleansing and environmental improvement duties, including land clearance and street washing.
  • Remove graffiti, fly-posters, gum and clean street furniture to maintain public areas.

What We Need From You:

  • Minimum of 6 months previous experience cleaning outdoor areas.
  • Must have awareness of health and safety regulations including experience operating equipment and manual handling.
  • Previous experience interacting with members of the public.
