First Choice are currently recruiting a clerical officer on behalf of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, to work within the Appointments Office at the Ulster Hospital. This is a full-time temporary post, initially required for 3 months, with the possibility of extension. Working hours will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Pay rate: £12.75 per hour.

The successful candidate must be able to display excellent organisational and communication skills, and display a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Main Duties:
  • Manage patient appointment scheduling, ensuring clinics are efficiently organised and waiting times minimised.
  • Process appointment bookings, cancellations and rescheduling requests using hospital patient administration systems.
  • Handle patient enquiries via telephone and face-to-face, providing clear, professional and compassionate support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with NHS data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff and departments to ensure appointment availability and smooth clinic operations.
  • Monitor appointment lists and waiting lists, ensuring priority cases are identified and managed appropriately.
What We Need From You:
  • 4 GCSEs all grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • 1 year Secretary experience (minute taking/diary management and coordinating meetings)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
