First Choice are recruiting a Cook to work within a private care home in Ballynahinch. This post offers 16 hours per week (2 days) on a rota basis. Shifts will be 8.45am to 5.15pm with an hourly rate of £13.50 per hour. This is a permanent opportunity.
The main duties of this role include:
- Cooking and preparing meals using the week's meal plan
- Rotating and ordering stock within budget
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen
The successful candidate must be able to cater to different ranges of dietary needs, including modified-texture diets to support residents with swallowing difficulties and reduce the risk of choking. They should be confident in following individual care plans and ensuring meals are safe, nutritious, and appropriate for each resident's needs.
What We Need From You:
- Previous experience working in a nursing home is essential
- Must hold, or be willing to undertake, food hygiene training
- Willingness to undergo Enhanced Access NI clearance
