First Choice are currently recruiting for 2 x Medical Secretaries to work within the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, at their Ulster hospital Site. This is a full-time, temporary post, working 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday, initially required for 3 months, with the possibility of extension. Pay rate is £12.75 per hour, 37 hours per week.

The successful candidate must be able to display excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have at least 1 year’s experience in a secretarial or admin role.

Main duties will be:

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to consultants, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams within a busy healthcare environment.
  • Manage consultant diaries, coordinating outpatient clinics, meetings, and appointments to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
  • Produce accurate medical correspondence, including clinic letters, referral letters, discharge summaries, and reports using audio and copy typing.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records on electronic and paper-based systems in accordance with Trust policies and GDPR requirements.
  • Process patient referrals, admissions, waiting lists, and follow-up appointments, ensuring compliance with departmental procedures and targets.
  • Act as a key point of contact for patients, GPs, healthcare professionals, and external agencies, responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.

What We Need From You:

  • 4 GCSEs all grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • 1 year Secretary experience (minute taking, diary management, and coordinating meetings)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
