A growing Solicitor's firm based in the town centre of Middlesbrough, specialising in Criminal Defence and Family/Children Law, with a reputation for a high quality client service. We have a key focus upon developing our staff.
The successful candidate will be able to deal with publicly funded family law matters, with particular focus upon Care and Child Protection. There is the opportunity to deal with Private Law Children cases also. The role will involve managing your own caseload, working with the Family Team to develop a high quality Care service for our clients. Membership of Resolution and/or Panel Memberships would be an advantage, but not essential. There are development opportunities within the firm to become Supervisor/Head of Department.
Responsibilities:- Provide expert legal advice and representation in public law matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to facilitate case progress.
- Organise and manage case files, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- A minimum of 1 year’s Post Qualification Experience within Family Law is preferred, although experience prior to qualification would also be taken into account.
- Excellent working knowledge of Legal Aid and CCMS System.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Developed advocacy skills.
- Ability to offer a quality service, maintaining high standards in accordance with the Legal Aid Agency Family Contract and Specialist Quality Mark requirements.
- High level of self motivation and drive.
- Confident ability to run and develop your own caseload with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative approach, with a focus upon maintaining excellent internal and external relationships and promotion of the Firm.
- 30 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.
- An additional day's annual leave the working day before Christmas.
- Office Closure between Christmas and New Year (subject to diary commitments).

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The office closes for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm (subject to diary commitments).
