A national stationery company based in Birtley is currently looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Multidrop Van Driver to join their busy delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Multidrop Van Driver seeking consistent weekday work with a well-established company.
About the Role: As a Multidrop Van Driver, you will be responsible for delivering stationery products to a wide range of clients across the North East, including Tyne & Wear, County Durham, and Teesside. This is a physical role that involves unloading goods at each stop, so you must be comfortable with handling heavier items such as boxes of copier paper. A sack barrow is provided in the vehicle for your convenience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily multidrop deliveries across the North East region
- Safely load and offload delivery van at customer sites
- Use a PDA (Handheld Scanner) to confirm completed deliveries
- Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers
- Ensure all delivery paperwork and logs are completed accurately
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months recent experience in a similar Multidrop Van Driver role
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
- No Drink Driving (DR) convictions accepted
- Must be physically fit – heavy lifting required
- Previous experience using a PDA/handheld scanner preferred
- Access to a PC, laptop, or tablet is essential to complete an online application form
- No taxi drivers will be considered for this position
Working Hours and Pay:
- Start time: 6:30 AM (Monday to Friday)
- Minimum 8 hours paid per day
- Standard rate: £12.50 per hour (first 8 hours)
- Overtime rate: £16.24 per hour (after 8 hours)
- Holiday pay is accrued on all hours worked (not rolled into the hourly rate)
