Our client is an innovative technology company engaged in cutting-edge research for Government customers. The Security Controller is responsible for the management and maintenance of information and physical security policies, processes, procedures and activity, to ensure that our staff, capabilities, facilities are safe, secure and have the ability to operate. Developed Vetting (DV) is essential. This role is to be predominantly based at Tewkesbury with travel to their Worcestershire site as required. We are open to hearing from candidates who would prefer either part-time and full-time hours and are open to considering a number of different working patterns.
Key responsibilities
- Advise the Board of Directors on key priorities and all security measures, proposing key changes and putting forward suggestions to ensure our client remain compliant and adhere to best practice in this area
- Maintain the company’s Physical Security aided by the Deputy Security Controller
- Responsible for maintaining required security accreditations, assurances and assessments to the highest standard. This includes Facilities Security Accreditation (FSC), Industry Personnel Security Assurance (IPSA) and the Surreptitious Threat Mitigation Process (STaMP)
- Issue out notices and reminders company wide to ensure they remain compliant and, as and when necessary, complete company training
- Perform periodic reviews and conduct spot checks of all classified assets in the Protective Document Register (PDR)
- Ensure documents, media, movement/transport plans and receipts are produced in accordance with MV’s Security Instructions and the Gov Classification Policy
- Responsible for updating and issuing the Company Security Instructions
- Ensure access to sensitive areas and their assets are recorded and controlled
- Secure disposal of documents and any damaged or unwanted hardware
- Line Management responsibility for the Deputy Security Controller
You will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Security Controller Training from the Defence Industry Security Association (DISA)
- A clear understanding of the Personnel Vetting Process and requirements for each security clearance level
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Excellent communication skills and is confident in communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven experience in influencing and working alongside Senior Management
