We are currently recruiting a Social Work Assistant to join a busy Social Work Team based in Antrim and Ballymena, working through the Northern Trust. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with a preferred start date in June 2026. The role is temporary ongoing, with a minimum duration of 3 months (with potential for extension).

This position is well suited to candidates who are currently studying social work or who have a strong interest in pursuing a career in social care.

  • Hourly rate: £14.06 per hour
  • Weekly mileage payments provided
  • Travel required as part of the role
  • NISCC registration
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance
  • Access to a car (travel is essential for this role)

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a relevant setting, such as:
    • Schools
    • Childcare settings
    • Youth work
    • Care assistant roles
  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a care-related subject
  • An Enhanced Access NI Check will be completed prior to the start date.
