Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: Oldham (hybrid)
Salary: £40,000-£45,000
Job Type: Permanent
The purpose of the post is to positively impact the attraction of job candidates to FCHO , to drive recruitment strategy, employer brand and provide excellent candidate and colleague experience around FCHO’s recruitment functionality.
The focus for the role will be to optimise our utilisation of recruitment, consulting with a range of stakeholders to understand our organisations’ needs. This role will also support the Director and Head of People in the delivery of elements of the People Strategy.
You will continuously work towards FCHO’s vision, demonstrating and role modelling its values and behaviours whilst promoting positive working practices and policies associated with Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Safety, Wellbeing and Safeguarding.
So what will you be doing?
In this role your responsibilities will be:
- Collaborate with hiring managers and leadership to understand FCHO’s talent needs, both short and long to anticipate potential growth/business development roles. Liaising with People Team on FCHO’s workforce and succession plans including apprenticeship schemes.
- Proactively source, identify, and engage passive candidates across various platforms bringing demonstrable knowledge on where to reach the best talent.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality candidates with a deep understanding of requirements of FCHO’s key objectives and the housing sector.
- Develop and execute creative sourcing strategies to target both technical and non-technical candidates.
- Own the full candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to offer negotiation. This includes candidate screening and assessing candidate profiles to ensure a strong alignment with FCHO’s values, culture, and technical requirements, coordinating all external job adverts, diary coordination, interview confirmations, interview assessments, candidate feedback and any required administration in the ATS system
- Utilise various sourcing tools, including applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, Linkedin and recruitment software to organise and manage the candidate funnel.
- Manage relationships with external recruiters when specialised searches are needed
- Management of the in-house applicant tracking system ensuring this is effectively used and fully up to date
- Conducting face to face and telephone interviews and supporting Hiring Managers on interview panels where requested
- Provide coaching, mentoring and training where required to new and existing hiring managers on interview techniques to support the recruitment policy and procedures
- Provide market information around sector roles and salaries to Director of People as required
- Meeting set KPIs eg time to hire and hires made
- Collaborate to foster inclusive recruitment
- Develop employer branding initiatives to establish FCHO as an employer of choice in Oldham/Greater Manchester liaising directly with the Communications & Marketing team
Who are we looking for?
Essential Requirements:
- 3+ years of technical recruitment experience
- 1 year organisational engagement
- Experience of identifying growth/business development roles proactively to support workforce planning and development.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to pitch FCHO’s vision and opportunities effectively
- Familiarity with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, social media.
Desirable:
- Use of IRIS Networx system would be advantageous
