Job Description

Neighbourhood Coordinator

Location: Oldham (hybrid)

Salary: £36,066

Job Type: Fixed-Term (3 months)

The purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality tenancy and neighbourhood management services by providing first-class customer service. This role supports our commitment to improving the lives of our customers and enhancing the quality of our neighbourhoods, ultimately increasing customer satisfaction and retention.

As a Neighbourhood Coordinator at First Choice Homes Oldham, you will play a proactive and visible role in managing tenancies and transforming communities.

So what will you be doing?

In this role your responsibilities will be:

  • Tenancy Management: Proactively manage a wide range of tenancy issues ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide clear, accurate advice on tenant rights and responsibilities to support successful tenancies.
  • Community Improvement: Lead regular, publicised neighbourhood walkabouts and respond effectively to both short and long-term community concerns.
  • Environmental Action: Tackle areas of environmental neglect through creative solutions, working collaboratively with customers and partner organisations.
  • Safeguarding & Support: Work with internal teams and external agencies to safeguard customers and support victims of domestic abuse.
  • Tenancy Visits & Changes: Conduct new and annual tenancy visits, and process changes
  • Rent Support: Assist in maximising rent collection through early intervention and appropriate guidance.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain awareness of fire and health & safety practices, and ensure personal safety procedures and risk assessments are followed.
  • Performance & Records: Meet individual performance targets, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with data protection standards (GDPR).

Who are we looking for?

  • Holds a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle
  • Be willing to undertake a DBS check
  • Holds a CIH Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Has knowledge of relevant legislation, government regulations and current issues within the Housing sector
  • Has working knowledge of Safeguarding
  • Understands the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion and demonstrates this by treating colleagues and customers fairly and equitable
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and good organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and resources utilised optimally.
