We\’re looking for a Tax Manager to join our Finance team in either Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Salford Quays, Manchester. If you\’re confident with all things Tax, including building computational models, then this role could be for you!
As the Tax Manager, you\’ll take day-to-day ownership of the group\’s tax compliance and reporting activities across indirect taxes (VAT, IPT), direct taxes (corporation tax), and other taxes as applicable. You\’ll work closely with the financial accounting team, who\’ll provide support in preparing tax working papers, reporting, and other tax-related accounting processes.

What\’s involved:
- Manage the group\’s tax compliance obligations across the UK, Gibraltar, and Guernsey, including corporation tax, VAT, IPT, and other taxes as relevant.
- Deliver the timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax returns, with some preparatory support from the financial accounting team and external support for our Corporate Tax filings.
- Work with the Financial Accounting team to ensure that tax postings are accurate and can be reconciled.
- Establish best in class processes and controls across the taxes with supporting documentation and appropriate attention to detail.
- Take a lead on Pillar II readiness, including finalising a sustainable model we can roll forward.
- Provide assistance to the statutory reporting team in ensuring compliance with tax reporting standards under relevant accounting standards, including accurate tax provisioning and deferred tax calculations.
- Be a first port of call for colleagues who need assistance with day-to-day tax queries.
- Oversee the monthly Transfer Pricing process for the Group with support from the Head of Tax and the financial accounting team.
- Work closely with the Head of Tax in the management of tax risk across the Group.
- Support the Head of Tax in advising on strategic and commercial decisions.
- Assist the Head of Tax in liaising with the tax authorities and any other matters as required.
- Assist the Head of Tax on any ad-hoc commercial or tax-driven initiatives across the Group.
- Deputise for Head of Tax when required.
Experience & knowledge
- Strong technical tax knowledge ideally across a range of taxes and including OECD BEPS/ Transfer Pricing rules.
