We’re on the hunt for a Senior Privacy Analyst to join our team and help us keep our data protection game strong! At 1st Central, we balance legal and compliance requirements with what’s best for the business. We need someone proactive, capable, and operating at a senior privacy level who has extensive experience and can hit the ground running.
Must-have skills to be successful in this role:
- Data Protection & Compliance Knowledge – Strong understanding of GDPR, PECR, and Data Protection laws, with the ability to provide practical, risk-based advice.
- Analytical & Risk Assessment Skills – Ability to assess risks, conduct DPIAs, review supplier audits, and ensure compliance while balancing business needs.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management – Translating complex privacy concepts into clear, actionable guidance for different teams across the business.
- Organisation & Attention to Detail – Managing multiple privacy-related tasks, keeping policies, registers, and frameworks up to date, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
What’s involved:
- Assist the team in maintaining and maturing the privacy framework across the Group.
- Assist with maintaining the privacy framework within chosen application.
- Assisting with maturing and enhancing privacy compliance across the organisation.
- Provide advice to the business on their obligations and good practice with privacy by design and default.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Register of Processing Activities.
- Conduct comprehensive Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Provide input to internal policies and procedures.
- Assist with writing reports for Committees.
- Conduct Reviews, Monitoring or Testing as required.
- Review supplier audits and support monitoring.
- Undertake research, keep abreast of changes, and keep the team informed of changes to applicable legislation.
- Assist with the provision of data protection training across as is required.
- Draft data protection communications for the business.
- Assist in maintaining the data protection areas of the intranet.
- Provide support through advice in response to requests from data subjects to exercise their rights, including but not limited to Data Subject Access Requests.
- The provision of ad hoc data protection support as is required.
- Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times.
- Ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.
Experience, skills & knowledge:
- Strong/proven track record for data protection and privacy experience in a professional environment.
- Experience in Financial Services is essential, in insurance would be beneficial.
- A good understanding of technology including AI based technologies.
- Good knowledge of GDPR, PECR and Data Protection laws.
- Good time management and organisation skills.
- Excellent communication and literacy.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess risk and impact from a privacy and data protection perspective.
