Salary: £35,000 per annum

Our client, a well‑established logistics company specialising in international shipping services from the UK to the USA, is seeking a fully vetted Warehouse Supervisor to join their busy operation on a permanent basis. This is a hands‑on supervisory role, ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a solid background in freight warehousing. The successful candidate will be dependable, approachable and able to lead by example while maintaining high operational standards.

Key Details

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm
  • Weekends: On a rotational basis (currently not required - typically 1 in 4)
  • Start Date: ASAP

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a freight warehouse in a supervisory role
  • X‑Ray Licence - Level COS
  • Forklift Licence
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Teams
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport (due to limited public transport access)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations and supervise staff to ensure timely and accurate shipment handling
  • Load and unload vehicles
  • Build and wrap pallets and aircraft containers (AKEs and PMCs) for airline dispatch
  • Conduct X‑ray screening of freight
  • Carry out check weighing and ensure updates are logged and communicated
  • Prepare and finalise documentation such as MAWBs and BOLs
  • Provide guidance and support to warehouse operatives to uphold a high standard of service
  • On occasion, cover for the evening X‑ray operator in emergencies (after appropriate training), shared on rotation with the late‑shift supervisor
