About the Role

We are recruiting reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our logistics team in Wakefield. This role involves trunking, depot-to-depot runs, and general haulage work, with minimal manual handling. You'll be operating modern, well-maintained vehicles and representing the company professionally at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle in line with UK driving regulations.
  • Complete trunking runs, depot deliveries, and collections as scheduled.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork, including delivery notes and driver logs.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
  • Maintain excellent communication with transport planners and warehouse staff.
  • Adhere to Tachograph, Drivers' Hours, and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Ensure goods are transported securely and arrive on time.
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at customer sites.

Requirements

  • Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Minimum of 6 months Class 1 driving experience (preferred, not always essential).
  • Good understanding of driving laws and safety standards.
  • Strong communication, reliability, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow scheduled routes.
