My client is currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Multi-Skilled Operative to join their team in a busy manufacturing environment in Newmarket. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene, organisation, and safety while supporting production and warehouse operations.
Job Summary
This role involves carrying out general hygiene, housekeeping, and material supply duties across the site. You will play a key part in ensuring the factory, yard, and production areas are clean, fully stocked, and operating efficiently. Flexibility is essential as you will support across multiple areas of the operation when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily pre-start inspections of the yard
- Monitor and maintain pallet levels in production areas
- Ensure changing rooms are stocked with appropriate PPE
- Replenish washing stations with soap, sanitiser, and hand towels
- Sort and distribute uniform deliveries
- Dispose of waste correctly into skips or compactors
- Flatten cardboard and operate the cardboard baler
- Maintain cleanliness of the rear yard and surrounding floor areas
- Load and despatch trailers as required
- Book in packaging and raw material deliveries
- Pick and supply packaging, materials, and PPE for production
- Carry out weekly stock takes in the packaging store and cold store
- Complete daily checks and support despatch activities
- Liaise with team members to receive and despatch trailers
- Follow all company risk assessments, procedures, and COSHH regulations
- Wear correct PPE at all times for each task
- Maintain high personal hygiene and follow strict site hygiene standards
- Follow 'clean as you go' practices at all times
- Operate machinery in line with training and competency
- Work flexibly across different areas of the department
- Report hazards, defects, and near misses to the Team Leader
- Ensure all product and stock items are correctly labelled for traceability
- Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow Defacto booking procedures ('booked as you go')
- Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency
- Escalate issues and support resolution of operational challenges
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management
