Location: Southall, Middlesex

Salary: £32,000 - £37,500 inclusive of shift premium

Contract: Full time permanent

Hours: 42 hours per week on an 18/2 shift pattern working 07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00 on a rotating 3 on 3 off shift pattern covering paired days and nights.

Our client is a global producer and supplier of French style bakery products including viennoiserie such as croissants and pain au chocolat alongside bread savoury items and pâtisserie. Their frozen part baked and fully baked products are supplied to foodservice professionals, retailers and bakers across more than 100 countries.

They are currently seeking a Quality Auditor to support the technical team in maintaining high food safety, quality and compliance standards across the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies, procedures and life saving rules at all times.
  • Promote a safe working environment by reporting hazards, accidents and near misses and ensuring correct PPE is used.
  • Support food safety, quality and hygiene standards across the factory ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP and company procedures.
  • Carry out internal audits including GMP, CCP, allergen, foreign body, hygiene, traceability and process audits and support corrective actions.
  • Monitor production paperwork, food safety documentation and quality control checks to ensure compliance with site standards.
  • Carry out product quality checks including measurements, visual inspections and sensory assessments to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
  • Support traceability processes and ensure all ingredients, work in progress and finished products are correctly recorded and traceable.
  • Log non-conformances, investigate issues and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct testing including pH testing, ATP swabs and microbiological sampling.
  • Monitor key raw materials and quality data and support the production team in improving product quality.
  • Prepare quality data and reports including daily, weekly and monthly KPI summaries.
  • Support product trials and collect technical data required for quality attribute standards.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, NPD and other departments to resolve issues and improve quality performance.
  • Provide training and guidance to operatives on food safety procedures, work instructions and quality standards.
  • Support the quality and technical team with investigations, audits and continuous improvement projects.

  • Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail when working with measurements and data.
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability.

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.

Preferable Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum 3 years experience within food manufacturing or bakery production or a Food Science related degree.
  • Good bakery and dough knowledge.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and quality management systems.
