Mobile Plant Fitter
Location: Rochester, Kent
Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 per annum DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing team, responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a range of small and mobile plant machinery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Fitter or experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for a permanent position offering a competitive salary, company van and fuel card, overtime opportunities and ongoing training.
The Role
As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard and remains safe, reliable and ready for use.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across a range of mobile plant equipment
- Servicing and completing routine preventative maintenance
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out emergency repairs where requiredCarrying out inspections and identifying potential mechanical issues
- Ensuring all machinery is safe, compliant and fit for operation
- Working independently across multiple sites
- Maintaining accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance work
Equipment You Will Work On
You will ideally have hands-on experience working with a range of small plant and construction equipment, including:
- Disc cutters
- Generators
- Pumps
- Trench rammers
- Mini diggers
- Dumpers
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in plant, construction equipment or mechanical maintenance
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience servicing and repairing small/mobile plant machinery
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A proactive and reliable approach to your work
- A full UK driving licence
