Job Summary

My client is seeking a Skilled Operative to support the smooth and efficient running of a production line. This role involves assisting with line changeovers and setting up lines while ensuring all checks and paperwork are completed accurately. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and ensuring production runs efficiently and safely. You will also support the Multi Skilled Operative when required and ensure all activities align with company quality policies and objectives.

Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing
  • Understanding of food hygiene and food safety standards
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic English language skills
  • Capability to carry out heavy lifting tasks
  • Willingness to complete hygiene and cleaning duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all tasks in line with risk assessments and company procedures
  • Work safely at all times while following health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations and wearing the required PPE
  • Handle food products while maintaining high hygiene standards and following company procedures
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned to required hygiene standards before production
  • Follow clean as you go practices ensuring work areas remain tidy and hazard free
  • Maximise yield by assessing product quality and reducing waste where possible
  • Work as part of a team to achieve daily production targets without compromising safety or quality
  • Operate machinery in line with training and skill level
  • Maintain flexibility by working across different production areas
  • Report hazards defects and near misses to the Team Leader
  • Ensure all products and racks are labelled correctly to maintain traceability
  • Support continuous improvement across efficiency hygiene quality and safety
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Carry out monitoring checks including temperature quality weight and labelling checks
  • Escalate production issues and support resolution
  • Follow Redzone and Defacto procedures and book tasks as you go
  • Carry out product changeovers and machine set ups in line with procedures
  • Be ready and on the line at the start of each shift
  • Complete any other reasonable tasks requested by management
