The Opportunity

Our client is an established UK B2B fabric wholesaler with a strong heritage and an exciting growth strategy. As the business continues to invest in its product offering, digital capabilities, sales structure and customer experience, they are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Fabric Sales Representative to join their growing sales team. This is a hands-on B2B sales role combining account management, face-to-face selling and new business development. You will manage and develop an existing portfolio of customers while actively identifying and winning new business opportunities across the UK. The client works with a diverse customer base, including independent retailers, fabric businesses, manufacturers, designers and larger commercial customers. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys building genuine relationships, understanding customer requirements and turning opportunities into long-term sales growth.

Why Join?

  • Face-to-face selling: Regularly visit customers, present physical product ranges and identify opportunities to increase sales.
  • Strong product offering: Sell across an extensive and continually developing fabric collection.
  • Ownership of your accounts: Build and manage your own customer portfolio, with the freedom to develop relationships and identify growth opportunities.
  • Regular UK travel: This is not a desk-based sales role. You will spend meaningful time visiting customers and developing business face-to-face.
  • Access to senior decision-makers: Work closely with senior management and the wider product and buying teams to respond quickly to commercial opportunities.
  • Exciting growth stage: Join a business investing in its brand, products, systems and customer experience.
  • Career progression: Genuine opportunity to grow your portfolio, responsibilities and position within the sales team based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established portfolio of B2B customer accounts.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships and become a trusted commercial contact for customers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and UK sales trips, presenting product ranges and identifying opportunities.
  • Proactively generate new business and convert prospective customers into active accounts.
  • Understand customer businesses, buying patterns and potential, developing plans to increase sales.
  • Present new ranges, seasonal collections and commercial opportunities.
  • Follow up quotations, samples, enquiries and sales opportunities promptly.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and introduce customers to additional product categories.
  • Negotiate commercially while protecting margin and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales opportunities and follow-up activity.
  • Work closely with the Product and Buying teams, sharing customer feedback and market intelligence.
  • Take ownership of individual sales targets and contribute to the wider growth of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-3+ years' proven B2B sales experience, ideally within physical products, wholesale, textiles, fashion or a related industry.
  • A confident and persuasive face-to-face salesperson who enjoys meeting customers.
  • Strong relationship-building and account management skills.
  • Commercially driven, target-focused and motivated by achieving growth.
  • Proactive approach to new business development rather than relying solely on inbound opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • A fast learner with strong commercial awareness, common sense and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own customer portfolio.
  • Experience using CRM systems and digital sales tools.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly throughout the UK.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is genuinely motivated by sales and enjoys being out in the market, meeting customers and creating opportunities. You will be confident enough to open new doors, commercially minded enough to identify where additional sales can be generated, and relationship-focused enough to build long-term customer partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced B2B salesperson looking to take ownership of a territory and play an important role in the continued growth of an established business.
