The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Night Shift Team Leader to support their night operation within a fast-paced distribution environment. Reporting directly to the Night Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of night-time logistics and warehouse activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting into the Night Shift Supervisor
- Organising and overseeing the loading of all vans and lorries throughout the night
- Producing accurate nightly loading reports
- Monitoring staff performance and creating effective workflow plans
- Liaising with the Transport team to resolve any operational issues
- Managing stock control and reporting discrepancies
- Supporting the Night Shift Supervisor in maintaining a safe working environment and escalating issues to the Warehouse Manager where necessary
Additional Responsibilities
- Getting involved in operational projects and presenting improvement ideas to management
- Manoeuvring vans within a busy yard during night operations
- Providing cover for the Night Shift Supervisor during periods of absence
- Supporting the wider needs of the business where required, within reason
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Valid Reach Truck and Counterbalance forklift licences
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proven experience leading or supervising small teams in a previous role
