The predicted salary is between 28000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
Salary: Β£35,000 per annum
Location: Halstead, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday. Standard office hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm, including an hour for lunch (37.5 hours per week). There is flexibility around start and finish times with the option to adjust lunch breaks where business needs allow.

This key role involves managing stock control systems, leading the annual stocktake and working closely with procurement, production and logistics teams to ensure stock levels align with both operational and commercial requirements. The successful candidate will play a vital role in minimising waste, improving processes and driving continuous improvement in inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of stock control ensuring accuracy, availability and operational efficiency across multiple locations
- Lead the annual stocktake, regular cycle counts and audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Manage slow-moving, obsolete and at-risk stock, coordinating actions such as reallocation, discounting or disposal
- Improve workflows for receiving, storing and dispatching stock to reduce errors and support production and delivery schedules
- Analyse inventory data and report on stock levels, trends and KPIs providing actionable insights for management
- Lead, develop and motivate the stock control team, promoting high standards, coaching and a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation to support audits
- Utilise ERP and inventory management systems to track stock efficiently and support business objectives
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory management or a similar role including planning and leading annual stocktakes and audits
- Experience using ERP or inventory systems (e.g. Access, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and a strong understanding of stock optimisation techniques
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Confident leader with experience managing, motivating and developing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive process improvements and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Commitment to maintaining accuracy, efficiency and operational excellence
