We are currently recruiting for four experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join a well-established and growing logistics operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional transport team responsible for delivering goods safely and efficiently across the UK. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of products while maintaining high standards of customer service, compliance, and vehicle care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport goods in accordance with UK driving laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, including driver's hours and vehicle defect reporting.
  • Complete delivery and collection paperwork accurately.
  • Maintain the security of products whilst in transit.
  • Carry out a variety of trailer work including refrigerated trailers, curtain siders, containers and low loaders.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
  • Provide excellent customer service at delivery and collection points.
  • Load and unload vehicles when required using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles.
  • Occasionally operate company passenger vehicles where appropriately licensed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and customer site requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
  • Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Minimum 1 year's HGV Class 1 driving experience.
  • No more than 6 points on your driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and driver compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Comfortable with manual handling duties.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
  • Willingness to undertake overnight stays when required.

Desirable Requirements

  • Category D (PSV) licence.
  • Experience operating a variety of trailer types.
  • Forklift or pump truck experience.

Shift Pattern

  • Average 55-hour working week.
  • Rolling shift pattern: Week 1: 5 days on, 1 day off; Week 2: 5 days on, 2 days off.
  • Approximately 1 full weekend off in every 12.

Salary & Benefits

  • £17.90 per hour for the first 40 hours worked.
  • £22.37 per hour for hours worked over 40 per week.
  • Additional overnight allowance.
